The Giulietta was first introduced at the Geneva Motor show in March 2010 as a replacement for the 147 model. It received a facelift in 2014, when the Quadrifoglio Verde was born.
This vehicle has a newly designed platform, new MacPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension. The Fiat Group as the parent company spent in the vicinity of 100 million euros to re-engineer this platform.
In Australia, there is a choice of petrol and diesel motors.
The entry level ‘Progression’ model with the 1.4l petrol turbo 88kw/215Nm engine has more than enough power to handle city traffic effortlessly whilst keeping running costs to a minimum.
The ‘Distinction’ model offers larger 17inch wheels, fog lights, rear parking sensors, dual-zone climate control and sports seats.
Both Progression & Distinction model variants offer a 2.0lt diesel option, but only with an automatic dual-clutch transmission. It produces 125kW at 4000 RPM.
The Giulietta QV (Quadrifoglio Verde) has a 1750 4-cylinder aluminium turbo charged engine that delivers 177kW at 5750 RPM and 340Nm at 2000 RPM. This model has the option of combination Alfa TCT (dual-clutch) automatic transmission and launch control system features. This system can propel the car from 0 – 100km/h in 6.0 seconds.
